A beautiful Victorian Scottish citrine brooch from the mid to late 19th century! The brooch is made of sterling silver and features a natural citrine gemstone at the centre. Likely mined from the Scotland Cairngorm mountains, the orange brown citrine exhibits stunning intense orange reflections, and the estimated size is 21.00 carats. The citrine is fashioned into a timeless oval cut with a faceted pavilion adding further scintillation. The citrine is held in by eight prongs and an intricate pierced and angled border surrounds the citrine. The design reflects the Arts and Crafts era with swirls and sinuous lines along with a chased surface pattern adding further depth of character. A pin and 'C' connection at the back makes up the rest of the brooch. There is a small ring attached to the back which could be used for a safety chain ... or utilizing for a pendant conversion! The brooch is not stamped, however has been tested to sterling silver.
