A delicate vintage ring from the Art Deco era, c1920's! Handmade in 15ct rose gold and platinum top, this charming crossover style ring has a three stone design with a twist for extra spread along the finger. Resting in platinum milgrain bezels is one dazzling paste stone, one purplish pink garnet top doublet and one pinkish red paste stone to the opposite side; the GTD and paste stones typical of the era. The central white paste stone displays lots of fire (alike a diamond!), it is fashioned in a juicy old-cut … adding further vintage charm! The bright pinkish hued oval cut stones either side could easily pass for rubies at a quick glance, albeit gemological tests confirm otherwise. The bezel settings of the stones feature intricate hand-pierced undercarriages, and the ring is completed with a smooth band which forms a twist to the opposite sides of the bezel settings. The ring is stamped "FINF" (possibly "FINE") "PLAT" and another stamp difficult to decipher. The ring tests 15ct gold and platinum.
Finger size of the ring measures "U" (Aus/UK) or "10 & 1/2" (USA)

The overall condition of the antique ring is very good. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold mount or settings. Stones appear all secure in their bezels, there is some light abrasions to stones which is indicative of the 100 year age, though only seen under magnification. A wonderful antique ring! |
