This Art and Crafts vintage ring is reminiscent of Rhoda Wager's style. British-born, Wager is known for her intricately wrought jewellery, soldered together piece by piece, and often incorporating gum leaves and nuts, berries, grapes and other Australian motifs. Her favourite gems were Australian opal and yellow sapphire's. Wager's workshop was based in Sydney, Australia, she created about 12,000 pieces of jewellery over 25 years (1921-1946).

There is no 'Wager' stamp visible on this ring- over the years it is possible to have been removed with resizing. It also maybe attributed to Rhoda Wager.

Taking centre stage is the pretty opal doublet, which is predominantly blue with strong iridescent flashes of green, pink, orange yellow and purple ... A tantalizing Play-of-Colour to the eye! The oval-shape opal doublet measures approximately 12.50mm x 9.3mm. Opal is shown-off in a distinct hand crafted mount which is adorned with leaves (perhaps depicting gum leaves & gum nuts) as well as a rope border. A 1.45mm wide shank makes up the rest of ring. Ring is hand crafted in 9ct gold with corresponding stamp inside shank "9ct" (just visible). The gold colour is the lovely subtle rose with a slight yellow hue.

Finger of this ring measures 6 1/2 or M.

An elegant, distinct vintage opal ring sure to please any opal lover.....
